Why Do You Keep Losing At Roulette

I am going to give you a bit of information about why people keep losing at online roulette. In the online roulette forums, which I am a regular visitor to, the most popular question is: “Why can’t I win?”

There are many reasons why people lose but the most obvious one would have to be the fact that the house has an edge. This edge is built into the layout of the game due to unfair payouts and there’s no getting away from it.

In European roulette, the edge is 2.56%, and in America it is 5.12%. So, in European Roulette, $2.56 should be lost in a total of 100 spins, which can soon build up.

However this never happens, people actually lose a lot more and play against their odds, not with them. This is the most common reason for people losing at online roulette.

Players try and use a roulette system called the martingale. This is when you double you bet after each loss and therefore when you get a win you will still be in profit.

Using the Martingale will make you think that your odds are better as you are likely to win after a short amount of time. A bad run always appears though and wipes your bankroll.

So, the problem you are left with is making huge bets with very little profit – it really isn’t worth the hassle. There are other versions of it that aren’t as aggressive but they just don’t work.

To sum up, I can confirm that the martingale system and people playing with bad odds equate to the two biggest reasons as to why people lose when playing online roulette. I would suggest that to get better odds you should bet flat on even money bets.
